On September 2nd, at Beijing Shougang Park, within the cultural and tourism services pavilion of the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services, visitors were immersed in experiencing rubbings, an intangible cultural heritage skill. Skilled artisans were on-site, offering hands-on demonstrations, and visitors could take home their own creations.
The cultural and tourism services pavilion is themed "Technology empowers culture, culture empowers cities", aiming to promote the dissemination of traditional Chinese culture and craftsmanship. On that day, many artisans set up "workshops" at the fair, allowing people not only to admire their craftsmanship, but also to try their hand at traditional skills like filigree inlay, paper cutting, embroidery and woodworking. This drew the attention and affection of both young people and families with children. Some parents believed that "such hands-on experiences are especially meaningful for children to learn about traditional culture and should be widely promoted".
